Plastic Surgery for the Holidays
The holidays are officially upon us…which means that this is the busiest time of the year for the plastic and cosmetic surgeons!
Many people chose to take their vacation time to have a little nip/tuck done in order to look fabulous for the upcoming New Year.
So what are people doing?
Smaller breast implants are definitely popular with many women opting for 200 to 300cc sizes…a big difference from 500cc plus sizes from 10 years ago.
Brazilian butt lifts and fat transfer to the buttock is also very popular. Mostly every patient that decides to have some liposuction asks if we can put the fat back into their butts.
Awake fat reduction such as Coolsculpt and VASER liposuction is a great option for those who want to reduce fat but don’t want to have a lot of downtime…its called “lunchtime lipo”.
The FDA just approved Voluma, a thicker facial filler made of hyaluronic acid which works nicely for cheek augmentation.
For overall facial resurfacing, the Dermaroller is starting to appear in more and more offices. It is the only skin treatment that my doctors ask for and have me do to them!
The Dermaroller is also called microneedling or collagen inducing therapy. Very tiny needles are rolled on to the face and neck which results in fresher, more glowing skin by the next day. Maximum results are seen at 6 weeks and it can be repeated every 12 weeks when done properly.
Enjoy the holiday season, treat yourself, and try out some of the new procedures!
